Result \Re*sult"\, verb (used without an object) [imp. & p. p. {Resulted}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Resulting}.] [F. r['e]sulter, fr. L. resultare, resultarum, to spring or leap back, v. intens. fr. resilire. See {Resile}.]
