Protrude \Pro*trude"\, verb (used with an object) [imp. & p. p. {Protruded}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Protruding}.] [L. protrudere, protrusum; pro forward + trudere to thrust. See {Threat}.]
1. To thrust forward; to drive or force along. --Locke.
