1. Having the disposition or temper of an enemy; unfriendly;
unfavorable; -- chiefly applied to private, as hostile is
to public, enmity.
2. Opposed in tendency, influence, or effects; antagonistic;
inconsistent; incompatible; adverse; repugnant.
